Born in Vienna in 1949

Attended school near the Ringstraße and received my Master’s degree in Italian language, translation and interpretation from the University of Vienna in 1972

Long-term studies of English at Berlitz School, SPIDI and in England

Worked as translator and interpreter in Vienna for Radiotelevisione Italiana and for the head office of the Austrian Federal Railways, and for His Excellence the Italian Ambassador in the capital city of the former German Democratic Republic

Worked as a freelance translator and interpreter for business negotiations and at press conferences for artists including Vittorio Gassman and Achille Castiglioni and for politicians including Bruno Kreisky and Alois Mock

Television broadcasts from the Vatican for John Paul II, also partly English-Italian

Literary translations of books about Austria, including Hans Weigel’s Vienna è diversa (Vienna is different), Austria, Schönbrunn, Vienna Milano City Guide for Springer Verlag

Teaching and production of distance learning courses in Italian and German for the Federation of Austrian Industrialists from 1978 to 1999

Lecturer in Italian at the Centre of Translation Studies (formerly the Institute for Interpreters and Translators) at the University of Vienna from 1980 to 2011
